FISH SUPPLIES
Our main fish supplier, Gavin from Ferguson Springs, has retired and now many will be looking for edible fish. Nagle Marron and Fish Farm in Gidgigannup will have quality Silver Perch.
Stick some Goldfish in to keep the system ticking along if you cant find edibles this year. There are a few Aquarium fish shops that will probably stock edibles. If we hear of other farms with stock we will keep you informed.
HOW AND WHY CHEIDYS AQUAPONICS STARTED
Cheidys Aquaponics commenced in 2014
After coming across this thing called Aquaponics in Perth in 2009, it was hook line and sinker. A brilliant way of growing pesticide free vegetables in your backyard without the effort. 90% less water used than a dirt garden which is so important in Australia. Now that sold me. One single bed system turned into a two bed system. My days of trying to maintain a dirt garden were over and finally I was able to produce food. Twenty eight years of nursing turned into working at Backyard Aquaponics. Purchasing another system, then two years later the shop was up for grabs. Just couldn’t help it!!
Cheidys began in May 2014 after taking over the retail side of Backyard Aquaponics .
As crazy as it seems, the business name comes about from our beautiful K9 Rescue Staffy, Cheidy(Chee Dee). She is one of the very good reasons for us to have a business as we are able to take her to work with us.
